The Build Guide walks through a complete WLED installation from scratch. You can read the entire guide in about 15 minutes; a first physical installation typically takes 1–3 hours depending on complexity.

The Build Guide references the Power Calculator for PSU, fuse, and wire gauge selection. Open both pages simultaneously and use the calculator results to fill in the values you apply in the guide. The guide explains what to do with each result; the calculator determines the correct value for your specific setup.
For a straightforward single-zone strip with a pre-flashed controller, budget an evening for wiring and initial configuration. First-time flashing, extensive soldering, or multi-zone segment planning can extend this to a full weekend.
Only if your strip and controller don't already have matching connectors. Many beginner-friendly kits use JST or similar plug-and-play connectors specifically to avoid soldering. Longer runs with power injection points usually do require some soldering or solderless wire connectors.

Yes — WLED and your hardware won't be damaged by an incomplete build as long as nothing is powered on with exposed or incorrect wiring. Just double-check polarity and connections again before first power-up if you've taken a break of more than a day or two.
